Ron takes a tour of the developing Vancouver Island University’s Deep Bay Field Station. The new facility will have LEED Platinum accreditation and support sustainable shellfish aquaculture development and help preserve coastal ecosystems.
Ron joins Education Minister Margaret MacDiarmid to sign the Qualicum Aboriginal Education Enhancement Agreement with committee members. The agreement is to set out plans on how to work to improve aboriginal student success in the district.

Ron celebrates School District # 69 literacy and the "Building Learning Together" program at the Chair-ity Auction with BLT Coordinator Deb Davenport, School Trustees Roy, Williams, and Hutchison as well as Superintendent Candice Morgan. Hand-painted chairs by all sorts of partner groups including from the libraries, the rotary clubs, and the school students were auctioned off for big dollars and the goal of raising funds for a new bus has been realized. Ron chipped in his contribution with a cheque from the Ministry of Education.
